As we strive to expand the reach of this divorce workshop in AZ, we are hearing a lot of questions about how it works. So this month, here’s a Q&A on what to expect.
Q: What is Second Saturday?
A: It is a workshop that provides information to people who are considering divorce or who find themselves already somewhere in the divorce process. Second Saturday offers non-biased financial, emotional and legal guidance from qualified local professionals, providing people with the knowledge, support, resources and trust that they need to survive the divorce process and move forward with confidence toward a new life.
Q:What’s with the name?
A:The workshop takes place on the second Saturday of each month. Although the one in Raleigh began in October 2014, Second Saturday events occur nationwide. The first one was started in 1989 by two women who operate The Women’s Institute for Financial Education. Learn more about the history at http://www.secondsaturday.com/.
Q:What can I expect if I attend?
A: Each divorce workshop is divided into three sections: family issues, legal issues, and financial issues. We begin with introductions. Then, each section is taught by a professional in that field, who will review the main aspects of separation and divorce. We leave time at the end for your questions. View the schedule.
Q:Who are these professionals?
A: They are therapists, attorneys, and financial experts. Each is an unpaid volunteer. The person presenting each month rotates. You can learn more about them on our presenters page.
Q:What are you selling?
A:There are no sales pitches. This workshop is designed to give you information only, so you can make the best decision for you and your situation.
Q:I am just thinking about divorce. I have not fully decided if I want to go through with it. Why should I attend this workshop?
A: This divorce workshop is all about providing the information you need to make your decision. After attending, you may realize you’d rather work on the marriage, and that’s fine. This offers a way to get an idea of what to expect if you decide divorce is the best option.
Q:I am afraid someone will recognize me.
A: Our workshops take place in a private office setting, not a public space, for this very reason. At the start, everyone must acknowledge that this is a confidential setting. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions or sharing information if you choose to do so.
Q: Do I have to pre-register? How do I pay?
A: Pre-registration is not necessary, just encouraged so we know how many people to expect. We accept cash or check payments at the door. Visit https://secondsaturdayscottsdale.com/ to register.
Q: My question isn’t answered here. How can I learn more?
A: Call Harry, at (480) 788-3768 or email him at info[at]https://secondsaturdayscottsdale.com/.
